After many successful years in the life insurance business, Wayne Miller decided to open a property & casualty agency and sell home, auto, and business insurance in addition to life insurance products. In 1969, Atlas Insurance Agency was born. Over the years, Wayne purchased several small insurance agencies. In 1980, the business name was changed to United Insurance Agencies and had offices in both Omaha and Bellevue. Wayne’s oldest daughter, Heidi Vescio, started coming to the office with him when she was in elementary school. She started working for United Insurance Agencies during high school and went full time in 1985.  In 1991, the agency moved to their current home in Miracle Hills Business Park. 

The same year, Heidi started her own insurance agency that specialized in non-standard auto insurance. Affordable Auto Insurance officed in the suite next door to United Insurance Agencies.  Both father and daughter were business owners sharing not only an office space but a passion for the business and their knowledge with each other. Wayne retired in 1998 and sold United Insurance Agencies to Heidi. Since that time, numerous changes have taken place within the agency to spur growth and keep up with the ever-changing industry. This second generation business is still run by family. Heidi’s sister and brother-in-law have been selling for the agency since she took the business over. Both agencies are proud of the progress they have made in becoming more efficient, knowledgable and environmentally conscious. We take pride in providing our customers with insurance solutions designed for their needs.
